INFORMATION ON CHANGING YOUR RESOLUTION


Changing your resolution to 800 X 600

If your computer is running Microsoft Windows (e.g. Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000), complete the following steps to change your resolution:

  1. Print this page to refer to during the process of changing the resolution.
  2. Click the "Start" button at the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
  3. Choose "Settings" and then "Control Panel", the "Control Panel" will be displayed.
  4. Double-click on the "Display" icon, the "Display Properties" window will appear.
  5. Click on the "Settings" tab near the top of the window.
  6. One section of the window is labeled "Desktop Area". Within this area, ensure that the resolution is set to at least 800 by 600 pixels. Make a note of your current resolution setting in the event you decide to change it back.  To increase the resolution, move the slide control towards the "More" label.
  7. Click on the "OK" button to establish the new resolution setting.
  8. You will be asked to reboot your computer to establish the new resolution setting. Click "OK" and your computer will restart with the new resolution.
  9. Use these same steps to reverse the resolution on your computer.

  4. Click on the "Appearance and Themes" icon, the "Pick a Task..." window will appear.
  5. Click on the "Change the screen resolution" link.
  6. The bottom left section of the window is labeled "Screen Resolution".  Within this area, ensure that the resolution is set to at least 800 by 600 pixels. Make a note of your current resolution setting in the event you decide to change it back.  To increase the resolution, move the slide control towards the "More" label.
  7. Click on the "OK" button to establish the new resolution setting.
  8. You may be asked to reboot your computer to establish the new resolution setting. Click "OK" and your computer will restart with the new resolution.
  9. Use these same steps to reverse the resolution on your computer.
